Area of Consideration
If you do not work for the government, you must apply for “Department-Wide,” “Special Area,” or “District-Government Wide” positions.
Lower grades indicate lower salaries, while higher grades indicate higher salaries. If a GS-10 position is out of your league at one department, you may be qualified for another. The DC Government is not required to post job positions Grade 12 and below.
How Applications Are Scored
Recruiters look at highly qualified applicants first, and if no one is chosen from that category, they move on to the next applicant. There are a total of 130 points available for successful applicants. The main idea is to provide your best.
