Are Crosley record players really that bad?
Re: Why do people say Crosley turntables destroy your record
Because they are. They are built to be as cheap and nasty as possible. Many of them track from 7-12 grams tracking force, they are nasty and distorted and do more damage to a record in one play than 3,000 plays on a good setup.

Why does my Crosley record player Sound weird?
A Crosley will never, ever, ever produce a sound that isn’t distorted, it’s in their nature. If you got a gift receipt I’d put it to use. Sometimes distortion is caused by something as simple as some fuzz on the needle.
