How do you get a house built by Habitat for Humanity?

- Applicant must complete at least 400 hours of sweat equity towards the building of Habitat homes.
- Applicant must be willing to live in a neighborhood in which Habitat is currently building;
- Applicant must be willing to attend required workshops for success in homeownership.

Volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore is an exciting way to give back to your community. ReStores, Habitat’s home improvement stores and donation centers, sell new and gently used home goods and building materials. Sales then fund the construction of Habitat homes.

The application process takes between one and three months. If an applicant is accepted into the Homeownership Program, the process from acceptance through moving into a home can take from eight months to two years, depending on available funding, construction schedules and the future homeowner’s Sweat Equity progress.
